HMO Illinois and BlueAvantage HMO^SM have been awarded an Excellent Accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). This accreditation level, NCQA’s highest, is only awarded to plans that meet or exceed its requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement in five categories: access and service, qualified providers, staying healthy, getting better and living with illness.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois has been awarded Health Utilization Management accreditation by the American Accreditation HealthCare Commission/URAC. URAC is a non-profit agency that promotes accountability in managed care.
