Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) is experiencing an issue with electronic claims submitted when BCBSIL is Secondary to Medicare claims.  It appears this 'issue' may have started mid/late December.

If you are receiving the denial message on your Provider Claim Summary or Electronic Payment Summary or Electronic Remittance Advice requiring Medicare information, please do not resubmit these claims electronically until this issue has been resolved. We will inform you as soon as a resolution becomes available.

Note: This does not affect Medicare Crossover claims received from Global Health Incorporated, Medicare’s clearinghouse.
