As part of our effort to continually improve access and a reliable production environment, we have performed an upgrade to our File Transfer Protocol (FTP) network. If you are experiencing problems transmitting or receiving files via internet FTP (ftp.hcsc.net) it may be due to the implementation of a new IP address as of August 3, 2008.
For quick reference, the old IP address is 63.215.122.120, and the new IP address is 205.172.134.80. Please check with your network administrator or local FTP service in charge of your Internet access control to make sure the new IP address is permitted.
If you have entered 63.215.122.120 into any script or firewall rules, you must remove this old information. Instead, you may wish to enter ftp.hcsc.net so the Domain Name Service (DNS) can run properly moving forward.
Please call the E-Commerce Center Hotline at 800-746-4614 if you require further assistance in this matter. We apologize for any inconvenience this upgrade may cause.
*Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas support File Transfer Protocol (FTP) via an Internet connection using PGP encryption. FTP is an industry standard protocol that allows for the transmission of data between systems of varying types using an internet connection. Please refer to our FTP Membership information for further details.
