Hospitalization Only Plan
This plan is for those who want protection against hospitalization expenses only. By
leaving out benefits for routine and most outpatient services, BasicBlue offers lower
premiums than our SelectBlue and BlueValue plans. BasicBlue benefits include:
- Coverage for inpatient hospitalization services
- Outpatient diagnostic testing for same-day emergency surgery
- Your choice of $500, $1,000 or $2,500 annual deductible
- 20% coinsurance
- Optional Dental coverage (excluding SelecTemp PPO)
The typical BasicBlue buyer is a young, healthy individual who does not regularly
visit a doctor or take prescription medication and is seeking a safety net for
unanticipated hospitalization expenses.
