Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the new Blue Door Neighborhood CenterSM in Chicago's South Lawndale neigborhood held its grand opening with a virtual event livestreamed on Facebook. The new center, like ones in Pullman and Morgan Park, partners with local organizations and offers education and resources on health and wellness and insurance. "Community health and wellness is important because traditionally you think of health care as just being the medical care you receive, when we know it goes well beyond that," Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois President Steve Hamman says.
