September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Ovarian cancer is an abnormal overgrowth of the cells that are found in the ovaries. As these cells multiply, they can invade and destroy healthy body tissue; too often this cancer is detected late, after it has spread beyond the ovaries.
We light the building teal in support of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and to bring awareness to the disease. This month, we highlight the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, celebrate the survivors, and remember those we have lost. To learn more visit ovarian.org.
