People face a variety of social, cultural and economic barriers to health care. And there are entrepreneurs looking to help close those gaps. To find some of the best ideas from these innovators, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) recently collaborated with MATTER to issue a nationwide Health Equity Innovation Challenge. Five finalists were invited to pitch their ideas to BCBSIL leaders.
The top three finalists came away with cash to fuel their work and memberships at MATTER, a Chicago-based health care technology incubator. Two of the teams also get to pilot their solution with BCBSIL through its Health Innovation Platform.
