Illinois Medicaid Providers: Update Your Information in the IMPACT System

Sept. 6, 2024

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services requires all Illinois Medicaid providers to revalidate or renew their Medicaid provider information at least every five years through the Illinois Medicaid Program Advanced Cloud Technology system. This requirement was waived during the Public Health Emergency, but effective Sept. 3, 2024, all providers are required to revalidate based upon their enrollment date. Providers who do not revalidate may be terminated.

Enrollment termination: You must complete revalidation to receive payment for services rendered to Illinois Medicaid customers. If you do not complete revalidation before the end of your revalidation cycle, there may be a break in your enrollment, which may affect your payments. There is no retroactive enrollment.

Revalidation timeline: The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services will notify you via email of your revalidation cycle. Wait for the email notification before you attempt to revalidate.

The revalidation cycle:

  • Will occur for a new group of providers each month
  • Is based upon your enrollment date found on the basic information page of your enrollment

Once revalidation begins, you will receive two notifications:

  • The first notice will be emailed 90 calendar days prior to the revalidation cycle end date.
  • The second notice will be emailed 30 calendar days prior to the revalidation cycle end date.

Ensure your email address is current: Notices will be sent to the email addresses listed on the Basic Information step of the IMPACT enrollment application. Check your email and ensure it’s updated with IMPACT. IMPACT allows up to three different email addresses on file.

Multiple locations: If you have multiple service locations, you must revalidate the enrollment of each service location. You’ll receive notification for each service location separately.

Resources and contact information: Revalidation FAQs and a job aid are available on the IMPACT website. Revalidation webinars are scheduled for:

If you need help completing revalidation, Provider Enrollment call center staff are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 877-782-5565, or you may email IMPACT staff.
