Join us in November at our BDNCSM locations for a Birth Equity Symposium to bring awareness to maternal and infant health disparities.
- On Thursday, Nov. 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Blue Door Neighborhood Center is collaborating with EverThrive Illinois to host a half-day conference for birth workers, social service providers, and community-based organizations to address social drivers of health. Register here.
- From 7 to 8 p.m., participants can take part in the Virtual Masterclass: Healthy Parenting, which will explore effective parenting strategies for raising happy and healthy children. Register here.
- On Friday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to noon at Morgan Park and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at South Lawndale, the BDNC is collaborating with HealthConnect One® to offer an educational experience that supports and advances the skills of birth workers and caregivers. This session will examine the core principles of community-based doula support and its impact on birth equity. Register here.
- From 3:30 to 5 p.m., we will conclude our Symposium at our Pullman center with the Self-Care for Birth Workers class. This session will explore practices designed to promote physical and emotional well-being. Register here.
