Update to 2022 Telehealth Services

Applies to: All Markets (All Groups, Retail and Medicare)

In support of our members and employer groups, in 2022 we will continue to cover the expanded telehealth services that we’ve covered this year. This is our standard coverage and will apply in all states. 

We are still evaluating our members’ needs and may add services to our coverage. We will provide any changes to the current code list in the coming months. Additionally, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois will not accept the GQ modifier on telehealth claims and will no longer accept telehealth claims from facilities.

This applies to:

• Our fully insured members and ASO customers. Benefit coverage will be consistent with the member’s health plan, including copays, coinsurance and deductibles.  
• Medicare members’ telehealth coverage is consistent with CMS requirements.
