As announced in our January 2022 Blue Review, we’re launching a Physician Efficiency, Appropriateness, & Quality (PEAQSM) program.
PEAQ will help measure individual provider performance to optimize quality and value of care for our members. PEAQ reports will be generated for physicians who meet inclusion criteria. We plan to release program results through Availity® Essentials.
A detailed program methodology is available on the new PEAQ page in our Provider Tools section. The methodology includes:
- Program Overview
- Measurement Details for Efficiency, Appropriateness, and Quality
- Physician Review and Inquiry Information
- Lists of Measures for Appropriateness and Quality
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) developed PEAQ with input from physicians. Continued collaboration will help the program evolve.
