Prescription Benefits

The HMOs of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois include prescription drug coverage benefits. The drug list is continually updated to show covered drug benefits. Choosing drugs from this list may help you save money. This drug list is a reference for your doctor when prescribing medicines for you, but it is solely up to you and your doctor to decide the medicine that is best for you.

To use this benefit:

• Show your BCBSIL member ID card at the pharmacy.
• How much you pay out of pocket for prescription drugs depends on your benefit plan, whether the drug is on the drug list and the level of coverage (or payment tier) for the drug.  
• Read about the 90-Day Supply Prescription Drug Program (HMO).
• Log in to Blue Access for Members^SM to visit your Rx Drugs page. You can use the online order form or print an order form for home delivery pharmacy service.
