Provider Finder gives you more ways to search than ever before. You can still look up doctors, hospitals and other providers by location. But now you can also compare providers based on price, patient reviews, and recognitions, all empowering you to have more control over your health care spending.

Springfield Clinic has returned to the OAP network as a Tier II provider.

Selecting Your Medical Group/IPA

Please follow these steps to select a primary care physician and medical group/independent practice association:

  • Use our Provider Finder to search for your HMO medical group/IPA.
    • Select HMO Illinois or Blue Advantage HMOSM as your Health Plan.
    • Select HMO Medical Group as your Provider Type.
      If you already have a PCP, you can search by name.
  • Click on the name of the medical group/IPA or physician to find their 3-digit medical group number (MG#). Be sure to select a PCP and write down their 10-digit NPI number as well.
  • Once you have selected a MG/IPA and PCP, you can specify your selection:
    • Online: Log in to your Blue Access for Members account and follow the instructions
    • By Phone: Call Customer Service

Choosing a Hospital

We understand that finding care from providers with proven expertise is important. That's why the Blue Distinction® program was created. This program identifies hospitals and medical facilities that meet high standards.

There are two types of recognitions:

  • Blue Distinction® Centers: Hospitals that have proven their ability to meet high standards of specialty care.
  • Blue Distinction® Centers+: Hospitals that are recognized for meeting high standards of care and for delivering cost-effective care.
