We are Recommended for Medicaid Managed Care Program

The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services has announced that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois is one of six Managed Care Organizations (MCOS) selected for the HealthChoice Illinois contract, serving the state’s Medicaid Managed Care Program.

“We are honored to be entrusted to continue serving our state’s Medicaid members,” said Brian Snell, BCBSIL president. “We have a longstanding commitment of increasing access to quality health care throughout Illinois, particularly in underserved communities. Our goal is to improve our members’ overall health by eliminating barriers to care and focusing on the health needs of all Illinoisians.”

BCBSIL has participated in the state’s Medicaid program since 2014 and is currently the largest participating MCO in the state with 700,000 members. Read more about the Medicaid announcement in our press release.
