Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (PDP)
Meet Blue Cross MedicareRxSM
Blue Cross MedicareRx plans go beyond Original Medicare to offer coverage for prescription drugs. Whether you have a few prescriptions or a lot, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois offers plans that can work for your health care needs and budget.
Prescription drug plans, also known as Part D, help pay for covered drugs since Original Medicare does not cover them. To check if you qualify for a Blue Cross MedicareRx plan visit our Eligibility and Enrollment page. All PDP plans have a nationwide pharmacy network. You can get your prescriptions in your neighborhood or across the country.
You will pay a copayment or coinsurance for your prescriptions and some plans may also have a deductible that will need to be met before benefits start. Copayments and coinsurances can change during these times.
With Blue Cross MedicareRx plans, you get:
- Fixed copayments and coinsurances, with $0 copayments for many drugs at preferred pharmacies
- A broad drug list
- Mail-order and network pharmacies nationwide
- Coverage backed by one of the state’s leading insurers
Find a Pharmacy
Blue Cross MedicareRx has network pharmacies nationwide, giving you peace of mind while traveling. You must use network pharmacies from Blue Cross MedicareRx or mail-order service to get benefits, except in an emergency.
You can use the Pharmacy Finder Tool to find an in-network pharmacy near you.
